Hi this is Leo, I am originally from South Korea, currently living in US (Houston, TX), and I am here in Ludwigsburg, Germany for a project from my work. This is my first time to Germany, well first time to Europe. I will be staying here until end of this week and possibly extended to end of September. I got here 2 weeks ago and last 2 weeks were bit busy with figure out the work and stuff. Now I have some free time after work and weekend, I would like to go out see thing, explore places, and meet people. I am not sure how the culture is in this forum. It seems that most of you guys (and ladies) know each others. Are the meetings posted here open to new people like me? If they are I would like to join for good meals (especially Asian food) and good time at bars and clubs or whatever that might be. Well, if I see any posts planning a meeting, I will reply to see if I can join when I can. It is Sunday 12:23 right now and I might head out to Stuttgart for a coffee and look around. You guys (and ladies) have a good rest of Sunday and hope to talk to you soon.
Thanks!!

As far as I'm aware, everyone is welcome to any event; you just have to say you're likely to be going, and then get there ;)

I've been arranging Asian Meal Nights for the last few weeks, but I'm running out of cuisines and don't want to start repeating, as people can do that on their own or whatever. This week will be a Thai meal on Wednesday once I find a decent one. You've missed (mainland) Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Vietnamese so far. If you know of a decent Korean restaurant/cafe or come across one, please let me know!

I'm also going to head out into the town centre pretty soon - I've just done the 'blue sock walk' or something - linking the Zacke and the Standseilbahn although I took my bike up on the Zacke, so it was more of a 'blue sock downhill cycle freewheel' experience.

The Standseilbahn is full of mainly old ladies going up to the cemetries. One of them, who told me that she learnt English 60 years ago after her father told her it would be important (he learnt it ... in a prisoner of war camp in England between 1914-18!), was really friendly. I do wonder if Stuttgart is unique in Germany, but everyone, really - everyone, has been so friendly.

Anyway, Bkulleo ... if you do go to the town centre, see the bears! You'll know what I mean when you get there ;)

If you fancied meeting an English bloke for a coffee, quickly send me a private message and we can arrange something.

Welcome to the forum! How's your sarcasm?

Well it started raining and I decided to come back.

Thanks for the reply and info adrianlondon!! I will try to make it this Wednesday. I heard there is a Korean restaurant near Porsche museum is and it is the only one near Stuttgart but I am not sure how good it is. I can find more info about the restaurant and let you know. Also next time I am heading out to Stuttgart, I will let you know so we can arrange something.

Thanks for the reply Lavender Rain. I am glad you guys are a happy loving family:-). When I mentioned about the culture in this forum, I did not mean anything sarcastic. From my previous experience, when all the group members are close to each other, it is harder for a new joiner to fit in and I was just wondering how open you guys are for a newbie and that was it. If any of my word sounded like sarcasm, I apologize.

Thanks!!
Lavender Rain
Bkulleo, my post to you was both facetious and sarcastic. I was not referring to anything you said to be sarcastic so there is no need to apologize for anything you wrote.

You are quite welcome here on the forum and happy reading and posting to you! smile.gif

Cycled to see the bears - many still in their crates and also the nametags (which say which country each bear is from) are mainly destroyed or missing. Then the rain started. Hid out in Starbucks with a latte until I finished my paper, then cycled back. Got wet ;) Was going to annoy the neighboiurs with a BBQ on my balcony later but I think they're off the hook.

Adrianlondon, sounds like you had a fun day!!
Lavender Rain, I guess I misunderstood what you said, my bad. Thanks for the welcome!!!
