Hi,

I am new to this forum. I am a computer engineer from india. I wish to join heilbronn university to do Masters of software engineering and management course. i wanted to know if anyone know about this course or its popularity. Its the one of a kind course which focuses on management aspect of IT than hardcore technical and electronics..also i would like if someone comment about the heilbronn university. where does it stands in comparison with the other universities.

If any one knows about any such other course please reply.

Thanking in advance..

Next Semester will be the first launch of this course at Heilbronn, hence you won't find anything about it.

i guess when you say University, you mean University of Applied Sciences(Fachhochschule)?. There is relatively a huge difference between the two. I cant give you any inputs about the quality of Fh-Heilbronn as i personally have no contacts there. but i hope you already did university ranking & review at DAAD
fyi: if you didnt know before there is yahoo group called Indians-In-Germany who do exhaustive review and provide information about all possible technical education in Germany.

edit: just read kato's post .. so i guess it is right.. first launch courses cant promise anything.. but definitely you would get all attention for sure tongue.gif

I dont know what do u mean by problems! but in general the job market right now in Germany is pretty good.. But can't assure what would be the case in like 2 years when you graduate! so foreseeing aftergraduation situation is kinda jumping the gun! Normally it doesnt matter if your course was a first launch or not! not many companies know about that and it doesnt interest them either... One tip to get technical jobs in Germany: learn GERMAN!!!

its exactly that what i meant that whether it makes any difference to the comapnies that what batch of course it was and what reputation of the course is. It matters a lot atleast here in india...

Again thanks for prompt replies.. smile.gif
Yes i know german good but my certificates are some years old. now one more question is that, when i contacted university it says you need validation from ASK( Ausländerstudienkolleg Konstanz) of your certificates. Will ASK consider my 3 years old certificates of german? or i will have to give any entrance test for german at ASK ??

Actually course doesnt demand german as lectures are completely held in english..but they need validation of ASK.

Please guide on this if you know..

thanks again...

...you need validation from ASK( Ausländerstudienkolleg Konstanz) of your certificates. ...

this has nothing to do with language requirements, but whether or not your bachelor's qualifies you for masters studies:

If you are a student from outside Europe, the following links might be especially useful:

Masters of Software Engineering and Management, University of Heilbronn

The Master in Software Engineering and Management is feasible for you, if:
* you hold a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely-related field, or
* you hold a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a different field, and prove formal training or practical experience with computer science for at least three years.

Definately make sure your skills are very sharp in German. I've heard from quite a few people that it is difficult to find employment here unless your German is tops.
