Hi, we are thinking of getting out the tent and doing some camping. However we need tent pegs, stoves, sleeping bags etc. Does anyone know where we can find any suitable shops please in or around Frankfurt?

Many thanks

There is a rather large outdoor and camping supply store on Sprendlingerlandstr. in Offenbach, across from the Mc Donalds and Motel One
Google Map Link Its the Bldg. with all the circles on the roof.

There's a big store called Globetrotters near the zoo, right outside the S-Bahn Ostendstr. stop. I've been in there once and they had plenty of outdoor gear, so hopefully carry what you need. Address is Hanauer Landstrasse 11.

Try "Sine" - Große Eschenheimer Str. 39 in Frankfurt (not far from the Turm movie theater).

Camping equipment in Germany I find is much more expensive than the UK. Basics (mats, chairs, sleeping bags etc) you can get from Real for much less than at a specialist outdoors shop. The type of stuff they sell is fine for summer "out of a car boot" camping but not really fit for climbing mountains and the like. I bought my tent from www.doorout.com Delivery was about 4 days from date of order and they were pretty good in terms of price. I'd definitely use them again as everthing i looked at on their site was cheaper than the Jack Wolfskin store or my local outdoors & camping equipment shop.
