What do you like doing?

If the weather's good I plan to spend Sunday cycling around, and maybe taking the "Zacke", and taking photos. If it's raining, I dunno; probably the same, and getting wet ;)

I've to say i live here for a long time but don't know much what happens around here sad.gif I'm ashamed of it.
But to go to a festival sound good.Time doesn't matter.Just want to go out and have fun.GIgs are great also but please no german bands.
Cheers

Looking at the weather, Saturday looks quite nice so I will be sunbathing, swimming and sleeping the day at Mineral Bad Leuze http://www.stuttgart-tourist.de/ENG/leisur...albad_Leuze.htm.
I think this is a typical German past time and you can eat there and they also have a beer garden. As for the evening, I will just let the day take me there.

There is a festival happening in Ulm. Here is the website: http://www.donaufest.de I don't really know what the festival is all about because the whole website is in German, and my German is as good as a two-year old's, but it was recommended to me. Also, Ulm is suppose to be a nice city with the Europe's tallest church tower. Don't know if you can go up it though.

Im up for doing something during the day. Anyone fancy finding a nice place to have lunch? email me: amy_bg@hotmail.com
amy_bg
oh yeah, and a beer might be on the agenda too.

As well as beer, did anyone fancy seeing some robots?

The Robots are Coming!

This is an exhibition in central Stuttgart. It looks cool (if you like techy things) and it's free. I fancy doing this some time tomorrow.

Have really to practise my english.
But when someone fancy to go out on sunday like for lunch or beer,or something else, were glad to meet up with folks. biggrin.gif

Me and Amy are meeting to see robots, drink beer or coffee, and maybe cycle a little bit if her bike doesn't fall apart.

We're meeting at 2pm by the Kunstmuseum in the centre of Stuttgart. I'm wearing shorts, and a 'I climbed the Great Wall (of China)' red tshirt. Come along!

Was this for today???
I was at work till 13:00 and saw it just now.
The other problem , i haven't a bicycle.
What a pity .
Should really buy a notebook sad.gif
Go everytime in a Internet Cafe to look here.

Hi Mayfly, well - when I posted that I wanted to do these things, you should have said 'yes' then I would have arranged how to meet you ;) There's no incentive to arrange things formally if no-one shows any interest.

Anyway ... we saw robots, got free champagne (a kind couple gave us two vouchers they didn't need - they were giving vouchers to people who bought stuff in some posh supermarket on/near Kleine Schlossplatz), cycled to a small stage with live music (ate hotdogs, cake, drank beer) next to Mineralbaeder U-Bahn, then caught another festival in Bad Cannstatt where we had a cocktail, saw some rubbish show, popped into Kaufland (hey, I'm a supermarket junkie), then cycled back.

A lovely day.

So ... tomorrow is another day. Apart from my 'ride the Zacke and take photos' thing which it's probably best that I do alone (I'm not much fun when I'm just lining up photos and trying to learn how to use my new camera), there are also loads of bears in Stuttgart! Apparently, the show doesn't start until 9th July, but they were unboxing them today and placing them around the Schlossgarten around the fountain opposite the Kunstmuseum.

I'm going to go tomorrow. Early if I have the willpower to get up so I can take photos away from the crowds; and then no doubt again in the afternoon once the ice cream places have opened ;)

Anyone want to see the Buddy bears? They look fun.

We did the TV Tower yesterday. It looks like a quick U ride over from the top of the Zacke at Dagerloch (we came up from downtown). 5 Euros for an adult. Saturday was a great day to go up.

Last week we did the blue sock trail. You can catch it from one of the stops on ths Zacke, but it may be easier coming from the Seil Bahn (close to the Zacke). From the top of the seilbahn, you walk through some nice forest next to a couple of cemeteries over to the Zacke. The last bit going that way is through a neighborhood and the trail may not be marked well (we lost it at the end). Nice walk, total distance is about 2 miles.

And we checked out the bears. They are from most every nation. US is filed under V (but it was not there yet). "Bears of Tolerance" I did not know bears were known for their tolerance, rather their appetite...

I think we are doing a AM trip to Wilhelma. They open at 8:15 on Sunday, for those who are looking for something to do.

Despite wanting to do things early, I'm not actually a morning person ;) Always full of good intention the night before, then spend the next day's morning in bed. It's almost 10am which is actually very good for me!

Thanks for the Zacke tips. I might save the TV tower for a weekend where some friends/family visit me from London, as it's probably the sort of thing I only need to do once. I might try and do it one evening as the sun sets, actually.

Enjoy the zoo and botanical gardens! That's meant to be great fun but I've yet to do that, either. So many things ...

Hi ,aye , the next time I write straightaway back.
But anyway I bought yesterday a notebook ,so need now only a provider.
You still go for an ice cream???Despite it's raining cat's and dog's in the moment ???
Or I'm late again ??? cool.gif
Just in case i send you my mobile number.
Hope I'm not to obtrusively with that.

Went for ice cream, saw the bears again, started to rain, so went to Starbucks and have now just cycled home. Don't know when the rain will stop!

Things not to do on a Sunday:

Took the family out to the Corso Kino in Vaihingen to watch Kung Fu Panda in English (They always have english cinema, no subtitles).

Now I know what "FSK 6" means. No kids at all under 6! The lady seemed like she might let us in, but it apparently is illegal to take kids into a move with you and I would hate to be deported... G and PG in the states are usually quite tame. The germans will have hard core porn on normal over the air TV but not let me take my kids to a movie about a panda bear?

Maybe bittorrent has it? :-)
adrianlondon
There's a Chinese version of youtube which has it - you can just stream it and watch it live without bittorrent. Google it; I'm not going to post dodgy URLs here. However, it's better to see it at the cinema for sure.

The German Film Rating system does seem quite strict. I can't remember, but maybe the panda crosses a road where there's no green man.
