Gallery photos of people who never post

I'm a bit puzzled by people who sign up for Toytown and then almost instantly put up pictures of themselves in the gallery. And occassionally will update their photo albums on here, but never ever post anything... I'm not sure what to think of it. Part of me finds it kinda creepy.

Why do they do that? I've always thought of the photo gallery on TT as a place I would put pictures I've taken at TT events-- or of pictures that might actually be of interest to other TTers.

One example (not intentionally singling her out, but it's the first example I found) The pictures are... all the same really. Yes, Carrie05, you are very pretty. Is there anything else you're interested in besides yourself that you'd like to show us? Jebus. It confuses me.

It seems to me we might have had this discussion before, but I did a search and can't find it.

Yeah, but sometimes it's only one or two photos. I don't get it either, especially when they never post. Not all of them are even good-looking! Tsk.

Might just be a cheap/easy way of getting photos up for linking to elsewhere - like Flickr basically? Making use of the bandwidth basically.

Now Tiggi, if you start imposing minimum eye-candy requirements TT would be decimated...

I suppose TT is an easy place to park pictures-- then again there are loads of online photo albums websites ou there (free of charge, etc) which are specifically set up for people to park their pictures on...

I park all mine in my photo albums on Facebook.

I wonder how many PMs Carrie got. That's probably why she hasn't been posting, actually - account imploded under the strain.

Yeah, but parking your photos on Facebook makes sense to me. Putting pics up on Myspace-- also makes sense to me.

It's because some newcomers don't understand what kind of social networking website TT is.

They're mistaking this place for yet another site in the ilk of MySpace, Facebook, hi5, and so on.

They don't realise that TT is primarily a chat forum, not a place to share your personal profile.

Vanity photos from newcomers are routinely deleted. Carrie's can stay though because she's young, female, and cute.

There ya go, a beautifully unbiased and reasonable decision from our Uebermeister.

I do wonder if the ladies here would have less of a problem with her if she was a hot guy?

Apparently Carrie05 is looking for a job as an Au pair.

I have a sudden desire to have children.

She is a hottie. But probably got bad breath or summat nasty.

Edit: Actually I just looked again, and she seems to have some kinda muscle spasm when photos are taken that causes her limbs to stick out at funny angles when the shutter clicks.

You also get quite a few people who have never posted on the forum but post comments to the galleries. Usually non-native speakers with comments along the lines of "You are nice. I like meet you". Fuppets!

I always find it fascinating to see just what emotions can lead people to start topics.

Ha. Know her through Facebook. Carrie was one of those who randomly facebook friended me like a year and a half ago, saying she was 18, from somewhere in Canada and was coming to Germany as an au pair and wanted to meet people who were already here. Never actually met her, but had the impression she was a pretty big party girl, since every week there were dozens of photos of her with various people who were either quite stylish or I guess were supposed to be well-known in the international clubbing scene, with captions like, "me and DJ Phonebooth rockin' the hiz-ouse!" She's into fashion and having pictures taken of herself all done-up, so I'm not surprised to see that gallery. She actually left me a voicemail once asking to crash at my place for a week. Got the message too late, but that was just as well, as the idea of housing some wild raver girl I'd never met wasn't very appealing.

She looks smart.

I am looking for an Au Pair. Wife would say no though. Well, no and a bunch of expletives and dirty looks.

She is obviously a Lei Hors d'oeuvres Hat Boat Bridge Tower Anchor Drink Giant Shoe Tiara model, and this is her portfolio.

Wonder if any of these recent galleries fulfill the criteria mentioned above...

That almost qualifies as a collateral damage porn shot.

sham graeme was the Hamburg guy who issued an open invitation to dinner at his place last weekend because he loves cooking - so his food pics are at least peripherally relevant (no comment as to whether they show what he dished up on Sunday, though).
But maybe the herbs could have been more tastefully arranged.

Why is everyone spunking themselves over this girl? I mean, I like to think of myself as quite liberal, and while I'm not a lesbian I can appreciate a really fantastic pair of breasts, pretty face or super-hot ass as much as the next man (I think it's a case of appreciating in others what you haven't got yourself!). But I would struggle to pick her out in a crowd...unless that crowd were of the other (assumingly) fat and unattractive people that Ed Bob has removed photos of.

I uploaded some pictures earlier this week and created an album. Today, I found out that they were all gone. They were just pictures of food that I served during our last dinner and definitely not xxx rated! Could pictures posted here got lost just like that? What's the policy? If I see those pics on YouTube, I'll hunt you down!

Shurly shome mishtake! I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I guessed it's not a mistake from their side. Well, I won't worry anyway. I guessed that's they way it goes. Though I would prefer a message be sent to the owner of the pics first before they were removed, rather than doing it after everyone else were satisfied making comments on them.

Somehow now it doesn't seem right to be in here (TT), but I can't find a way to delete my profile. Maybe now I shall ask how to do that? Now this reply will definitely be moved/merged elsewhere ... hehehe.

That's an awful lot to encapsulate in four photos of his own head and shoulders.

Perhaps the whole thing is intended as a clever commentary on the power of the individual image? Or perhaps I should cut the caffeine and get some sleep. Poll to follow shortly.

For anyone who missed the gallery album linked by Allershausen and Yeti above, it was four photos. Each of them was a slightly different picture of the same non-smiling Indian guy sat in a chair. The album description text was as Tiggi has copied above. Album now removed.
