Any lesbians and/or gays out there? Or any other open minded people???

So, with Stuttgart Pride coming up in July there will be loads going on. Anyone fancy partaking?

Participating as in going along to watch, have fun, eat ice cream and chill out? Or participate as in help the preparations?

I'm lazy. I'm very much for the former ;) Unfortunately I don't speak/read German so I'll see what babel makes of it all. But yes, I'm interested. I'm gay, so does that excuse me from having to be open minded too? Hope so ;)
amy_bg
oh it most definitely does involve eating ice cream and maybe a beer or three...

there are loads of parties but the main pride parade ends up on schlossplatz. Ive forgotten which day but when I get a few more minutes I can put up what sounds good on here if you like.
adrianlondon
Yes please. In English pretty please! Babel got a bit excited when I dumped the entire web page into it ;)
amy_bg
ha ha, babel is rubbish. I have to head out right now but will be back Thursday and will sort out what sounds slightly good, and a brief rundown of everything else just in case.

Oh and regarding being openmindend, yes, you still have to be. We are in Germany after all. Anything could happen.

Thanks for doing that. The pride march goes past my apartment. I'm tempted by the tour of the gay scene, to see if there's anything "normal", as in non-themed. It seems the Germans like their gay bars with themes, rather than just a place for gay boys and girls to hang out. Leather? This bar. Stupid moustache? That bar. Fat and hairy? Another bar. I want the "a bit poofy and fancy a beer?" bar.
amy_bg
Ha ha, I know what you mean. Hmm, well have you been to Cafe Jenseitz yet? Its on Bebelstr. just past where Schwabstr. crosses it. Its quite small but really nice. Ive only been a couple of times and my girlfiend and I are always the only females there, but the atmosphere is really nice and we dont feel like 'eugh women - what are you doing here?'
They also have something on pretty much every night over pride, so worth a look in.
adrianlondon
Nope, not hit the gay scene at all yet, really. I prefer to sit outside in this weather with a hefe, so I've stuck to beer gardens so far ;)

Just really wanted to post to bring this message up to the top. biggrin.gif But wanted to know if anyone wants to go to the parade and Aids Benefit Street Festival.
adrianlondon
Unfortunately I'm working tomorrow but hope to be finished by 6pm. I will pop down and have a look (or risk falling off my balcony trying to look from there) as it passes the Tuebingerstr and Silberburgstr junction.

I start work (luckily from home) at 5:30am tomorrow so don't know what I'll be up to Saturday evening yet. I'll no doubt pop out for something.
woo
