The Mannheimer Versicherung (here: the
life insurance divison) was the first insurance in Germany to require the "Protector" involvment from the German insurance industry because of severe mismanagement of investments and thus near bankruptcy/crash of this insurance only a couple of years back. I have not checked the latest FITCH stress tests on the insurance company myself, but am rather doubtfull as how good or how much they have learned from their earlier mistakes... What is more: when ever I do a full comparison of insurance quotes, be that life, health or whatever, Mannheimer is never among the top contenders. Thus I usually do not recommend any insurance products from Mannheimer per se - that does not mean that all is bad, but you should have any/every info or quote you receive checked by a neutral third party like an independent broker or so...
