Hi everybody,I need some help.Up until now i´ve watched TV over cable.Digi cable for a few Brit programs. My "Vermieter" has now set up a Sat system for the whole street and cable will be switched off.I now need to know how I set up the system in my flat so that 3 TV´s can watch. We´ve got a new socket in the wall with 2 SAT connections and one TV/R.I know the system will use several Sat dishes and lnb´s for different languages,my question is how do I go about rigging up the 3 TV´s in my flat.Do I need a"Verteiler" or do I run the cable from one reciever to the next(I realize I need 3 sat recievers).
Any help out there
Cheers

In the first case, surely this is a question for your landlord, as there are so many different configurations he could have set up.

First question to the landlord should be "Is it a *einkabel-lösung* ?"
If so, than it should be easy to use a simple "verteiler" to feed several TVs.
If not, it will be a trickey thing to do...
You could still feed several TVs as long as each is displaying the same program (watching in different rooms).
If different people want to watch different programs then you should find out what your landlord has installed indeed (proper sat feed, or converting a selection of sat channels to analogue which is a 'private cable', or..., or...) an then contact me again...

Gosh, where to start. As a (very) general rule, if it really is a SAT system, then one socket means one reciever. There are systems that will multiplex two SAT signals down one line but you need the other end of the sytem to decode again (and you then have essentially two sockets).
There are also systems that provide a limited selection of all possible channels on one cable. You use use any old reciever for these and should be able to just attach further receivers with T-connectors, althogh the signal might get worse the more connectors you use. You wont have all possible channels on there but you may have more than are broadcast terrestrially.
there is a new system that sends a sort of bus signal that you need a special receiver for but those are rare.
Chances are if theyve already said you can use multiple receivers than youve got the second option. Get hold of a (digital) receiver and try it out.
