I'll be joining the rest of you in Munich this coming January. I live in Southern, Ontario - an hour and a half south/west of Toronto. There's no need mentioning the city I live in as most people haven't heard of it. The telephone was invented here though.

Where do the rest of you hail from?!?!?
Carm
Winnipeg, Manitoba, otherwise known at Winterpeg!

T'rawna -- for the last 10 years. I arrived here in July.

Before that Vancouver, before that Toronto, before that Kitchener (which I keep trying to forget -- though it did prepare me for Oktoberfest), and before that, born and raised on the south shore of Montreal, with a weekend farm in the Eastern Townships. There was a also a short stint in Calgary somewhere in there.

Uhh... where am I now?
pranaman
i assume you're from brantford... I hail from that area too... though a little bit north

I'm from Toronto, and while I'll be heading home in mid-december, I can assure you that I've had an amazing time here! TT has made the whole time for me a total blast, so make no hesitation in getting out there and meeting all of us.

I'm an Amish pumpkin farmer/religious zealot from Kitchener/Waterloo in south-western Ontario. If anybody needs tasty Pumpkins let me know...Hallelujah!!!
Blimeygirl
Most Amish are trilingual. They speak a dialect of German called Pennsylvania Dutch at home; they use High German at their worship services; and they learn English at school. They speak English when they deal with anyone who is not Amish.
Ah...so you speak perfect German then Canuck?
gills
Er, I think that "Pennsylvania Dutch" was really "Pennsylvania Deutsche" before it got anglicized.
Blimeygirl
Instead, their common bond is a mainly German background (Pennsylvania Dutch is actually Pennsylvania Deutsch, or German).
Very good gills

Interesting reading...now that Canuck has brought it up:
