The Munich Scandinavian celebrate their Midsummer Night this Saturday starting around 15:00 open end. They meet in the English Garden close to Studentenstadt and the stream that flows there.
Every nation is meeting at their flag, their is a possibility to barbecue so just bring food and drinks along.
In the evening there will be a big bonfire.

The Scandinavian countries which include Finland, Sweden, Norwegian and Estonia celebrate each year the start of summer with dances, games and a big bonfire in the night of June, 23th.
The Scandinavian in Munich traditionally celebrate this occasion the Saturday before the 23th - as we're not so lucky to have a holiday on the 24th. Originally this celebration comes from the pagans who have been celebrating the solstice.

How to get to Studentenstadt by public transportation:

You can take the subway U6 towards Garching-Hochbrück, exit at Studentenstadt.
Walk towards the Studentenstadt but stay on Grasmeierstr. You than will automatically walk into the Englische Garten at the end. Just keep on walking east and you should hit the place and the stream ... or just cycle

... and be aware, MadAxeMurderer will be there with me, so if you want to avoid him you know where not to go Saturday
MadAxeMurderer
Yes indeed MadAxe will be there, to be avoided or otherwise.

Will you be eating crayfish?
RogerM
I think that's August - my Swedish midsummers involved pickled herring with dill potatoes and sour cream, washed down with beer and schnaps, and if still standing and long, long session of Kub in the garden... with everyone remembering different rules!
MadAxeMurderer
I think RogerM is right about the crayfish festivals in August.

However its all moot to me, I shall not be indulging in crayfish, and Ms MadAxe (aka lunarcat) is similarly superior i.e. vegetarian. And no vegetarians don't eat fish
