Converting German driver's license to Canadian one

Hello,

I came to Munich 2 years ago and converted my Canadian drivers license into a German one. At that time they took my Canadian one away and said that they were gonna send it back to Canada (don't really understand why).
And now that I'm going back to Canada, should I go get my Candian license back? I know that German license is for life time, so would it be better off if I just use the German one even when I am in Canada?

It probably depends on how long you are entitled to drive on a foreign license once back in Canada. Check with the province that you intend to return to and see what the local laws say.
