Good quality French cuisine in Hamburg but the service is dreadful and the focus on maximising wine sales is simply cynical. I won't be returning - Hamburg has many much better restaurants.
Posted by: "Graham Ball" at 8:41 pm on 24.Apr.2008Well i had a reservation for the 23 of May in the restaurant La Mirabelle, I have to say that the quality of the cuisine impressed me, I had a nice terrine de foie gras with a wonderful wine from Sauturnes. After this start I had for the second curse the coquilles st.jacques, for this curse I had a nice Riesling grand crux 1999 Alsace, Wolxheim. This is why im impressed mr. Ball that you say that the service was focused on maimising the wine sales. I was always asked if I wanted more wine or not, so that I had still the control of how much money I spended. Mr. Ball, thats how come I would like to know what you mean with the maximising wines sales. All in one I had a wonderful evening. I'm sure I will spend an other evening in this restaurant again. With friendly greets.
