The art of the music video mash up

44 posts in this topic

Recently I've been seeing more and more of these. And I love 'em.

Two or more music videos mixed together to create one.

For example, Britney Spears meets the Sugababes to create Me Against The Hole In The Music.

Or perhaps a better example, The Police meet Snow Patrol to create Every Car You Chase.

My current favourite: Boogie Pimps versus Justin Timberlake

There are lots out there. Some are better than others. Which are your faves?

I heard "Every Car You Chase" on the radio and was bowled over by how the two songs "Every Breath You Take" and "Chasing Cars" complement each other. Then I saw the video.

That was so cool! Two of my favorite songs of all time (both in the Top 50, at least), plus the Chasing Cars video that the mashup was sampled from was directed by two really good friends of mine, Stefan Arni and Siggi Kinski. Which just makes the mashup way cooler.
