What can someone do when a neighbour have really loud sex life is interfereing with norma life? For the past 1 mnth or so my neighbour has been having really really loud sex. Her apartment is below ours and it is so bad that we hear everything, upto the moans and shitty bed etc. On weekends afternoons wecant sit on our balcony because she is at it and loudly. The worse thing is at night when we are already in bed and then it starts etc. Its making me go crazy as i have to wake up really early. The otions I see are to sleep in the sitting room, move (have started looking for another apartment) Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Have you asked her to keep the noise down?

Tell her to please keep the noise down when she's having sex. Maybe that will work.

Shitty bed ?

Is this weird sex, kiny sex or dirty sex, that you are listening in on?

Yeah, ask her to keep the noise down, and if that fails, assuming that she will be able to hear what goes on in your flat, wait till she finishes and give sarcastic rounds of applause.

Or cheer her on while she's at it!

I think I will try the loud applause. Will see what happens.

Jesus, you're talking about moving! You're 30 years old, just go ask your neighbour politely to keep the noise down.

Obviously the neighbour can't bite into the pillow becasue German pillows are the wrong shape!

If you are waking up really early, you could do your neighbour a favour and wake her up as well. I am sure she won't mind as she thinks it is ok to keep you awake late at night. You could ring her bell by mistake or something.

Or yell down from your balcony, "sounds like you're having a lot of fun, mind if I join in?"

Tape it, use it as background sound for a Playmobil video, post it on youtube, give her the link.

Or just give her the tape.

Next question.

I like the applaud idea, or, next time you see her in the hallway (or go out of your way to bump into her) give her the up down look and giggle. Or next saturday afternoon, when she starts up again, stay on the balcony (weather permitting) and mimic everything she does, and really loud too, so she can hear it.

Do you live in Munich? On Leonrodstr by any chance?

I had the same problem. The only answer was once in a while to shout out the window to keep it down. That or go knock on her door and ask to join in.

We did that some years ago to an upstairs neighbour who used to come back home at 2-3 o'clock most nights and then walk around her flat in stilettos for ages. We told her politely a few times that the noise prevented us from sleeping but she ignored us. Then one day we phoned her up at 6.30am and said: "This is when we have to get up every morning, we'll gladly wake you up at the same time." Strangely enough, she decided that she could do without her high heels after all...

Charge admission to your balcony.

No, seriously, either confront her face to face or drop a note in her mailbox explaining the situation.

For the love of god! Here's an idea, play grown up for a half an hour and go down stairs, talk to her about it and ask her to keep it down. It all likelihood she will be embarrassed as hell and keep it down in the future.

If that doesn't work after the 2nd or 3rd time, call the hausmeister or the cops.

Try german tactics:

anonymous note on the doorstep

When I lived in Newbury, we had a neighbour below who constantly watched porn films throughout the night (at least I hope he watched them and didn't make them).

My partner told him twice to keep it down, which worked for about 2 days and then it was loud again.

As he looked very shifty and 'illegal' (in the 6 months we lived there he had about 3 different luxury cars but never seemed to work) we didn't really want to upset him too much because we thought he might get it back on us.

I know that might not help your situation.

But maybe speak to her, she might not even be aware that you can hear her.
