I don't think either of them really wants to win. Germany was thrilled that Lena won until they realized that they'd have to spend €25 million hosting next year's contest.

Why are they evening still bothering with this nonsense? The Eurovision song contest is a joke and has been for years.

Don't get me wrong, this has nothing to do with Bonnie Tyler - I quite like her.

But it is a bit silly getting a mature, well-known professional singer to be the candidate.

You mean in all the UK there was no younger, fresher, newer talent to be found?

Well that's a sad state of affairs.

You would prefer Jedward of Scoot.... eh?

My Vote goes for Noddy Holder... Singing Danas "All kinds of everything"!!

Yikes - you're right I forgot Jedward (weren't they from Ireland though?)

I ask myself that same question regarding the myriad of "talent" shows on TV.

Me too but I often ask another question to follow, where are they all now?

Wrong. Eurovision is a cringefest of cheesy acts and corrupt tactical Balkan voting.

It is a well known fact that Yugoslavia split up to enable this.

Absolutely! What would the Balkan States ever win if there was no Eurovision? ;) And it gives Turkey to chance to prove that they can do cheesy pop just as well as Germany, if not better.

I love Eurovision - one of the funniest things on TV.

I reckon that Bonnie Tyler will be Total Eclipse of the Vote, though.

Was I hearing things or is the Jerry entry this year almost a carbon copy of "Euphoria"? Same techno beats, even rhyming with the song from last year?

Jeremy, the fact that you remember the song from last year is sad
