Excluded from public insurance (age and income)

I am told that moving to Germany over 55 and making a certain salary level, one cannot join public health insurance because of not having been in an EU public health insurance the last 12 months or 2 years out of 5 years.

Also, that private insurance can decline to insure me for whatever reason they find.

Are there any options

I´m getting old, Jeremy. I just read " website party in English"! :D

I agree it would be a good idea to contact them in English..they say " not possible " very nicely, I´m afraid....

However, stranger things have happened - get them to quote verse and chapter and ask about any possible exceptions.

It´s different if you come as an over 55-year-old employee from a public health system in Europe ( then it´s ok ) than if you come from the American system.
