Hi, hello!

Ive been living in Kempten (Allgaeu) with my husband now for over a year and we both really enjoy it. However, I would really like some English speaking people to meet with. I am currently pregnant and it would also be wonderful if there are english speaking mothers out there to meet with.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone and anybody : )

Hi! I have been living here for 5 months, have a 4 month baby and would also like too meet some people from abroad, AND mothers - it is very different here compared to Denmark - here, it feels like you have to make a huge effort to meet other mothers - and I don't think there are very many good meeting places. I am Swedish, have lived in Denmark for 15 years, and speak excellent English:-)

Hello,

Just say your posts and thought I'd reply. My name is Heidi and I live in a small village just outside Kempten. I'm from the US and have been living here for almost 12 years now. I have 4 year-old twin boys. Feel free to send me a message. I'm always looking for new English speaking friends here in the area. There are actually more of us around than you might think!Looking forward to hearing from you!

Well...hello!!! I am not pregnant, I have no children and am not even a woman - but would happily try to change all that to be able to speak to someone in my own language!! I have been here for about two months properly now and have learnt limited German...enough to get by professionally as an eye doctor in everyday practice but I am not at all happy with my current proficiency or lack there of - it would be great to be able to take a break and just relax with a familiar sounding language in the air. I love cooking, playing music and socialising and am avidly snowboarding now in my first winter here when I can on weekends. I live in the middle of Kempten and work very close to the Forum...I came from Cambridge (ten years) but am originally South African and have lived in Canada and Australia. ..a proper world mongrel. Anyway...please let me know if you do meet up and would enjoy one extra...!

Hi Deric,

My friend Lisa just called me last night to tell me she met you when she took her daughter to the eye doctor. Welcome to Kempten! I do get together with a group of women who are all native English speakers. One of the women is also from South Africa. I know that Lisa got your e-mail address, so the next time we meet up, I'll have her invite you along.

HI there

I live 30km from Kempten, in Marktoberdorf. I am a single mom, have 3 daughters and have been living in Germany for 20 years now (from South Africa). Didn't realise there were so many mother-tongue speakers around here - I have never coincidentally bumped into any of you :-D

You are welcome to contact me :-)

Regards

Kathy

Well, since there seems to be so many of us in the Kempten area, why don't we try to get together? What time of day is good for everyone? I'm free in the morningd until noon while my boys are at kindergarten, but I'm also open to meet in the evening as long as I know ahead of time and can plan with my husband. Looking forward to hearing back from you all so that we can plan something!

Hello! Nice with so many replies!

What about finding an afternoon/evening and booking a table at 'Times' in Kempten? It's an "American"-inspired restaurant, with mostly guests under the age of 30... But I have been let in once haha. ,Aand it's a pretty casual athmosphere there. Should we make a Doodle to find a suitable time?

Cheers/Wendy

Hi everyone,

I have made a 'Doodle' - please follow the link: http://doodle.com/8s3aqv8w4izrm3wf

Doodle is a "votation" tool, so we could find a suitable date for a meetup. I have chosen Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as 'hjulm' and I are free there.

Regards,

Wendy

Hi there!

Its a shame that I only got a notification from Toytown in my emails today about these replies otherwise I would have replied earlier!

I would like to meet up! I am easy and flexible. If there is a time and place set, I will gladly make a show! So from now on, I will check Toytown to see if a meeting is set.

Best,

Neta

Hello Heidi, Cherokee, Neta and Adalee! Shall we say Saturday 16th of February (in 3 days) at 18.00 at the "Zum Stift"? Please tell me Yes/No and how many you will be - I am 35 and will probably bring my husband and my baby (6 months)- unless you need to be off from your families and prefer to come alone, then I would do so too? Please tell me as soon as possible, so I can try to book a table.

Cheers, Wendy

Hello all English speaking, South African mothers,

I am living in Kempten since September 2012. My home town is Cape Town and am here to support my husband while working at TUM University Munich. I am a young granny who would love to meet mothers with small children and maybe I can do some baby sitting. I have two granddaughters back home aged 5 and 2 and I am missing them very much.

dear all, my name is Ray from Hong Kong, I have just changed my job from Berlin to Kempten less than a month ago and very happily discovered that there are English speakers here in Kempten! I live now not so far away between the Forum and ZUM, quite in the center, but I still find it here a bit too quiet for me. I am 31, together with my wife Kanny (29), we would like to meet up with the English speaking community in Kempten. About work, I am working on regulatory and scientific affairs in a dairy group.

My German is also understandable, and I do speak several Asian languauges such as Chinese, Cantonese and Korean.

Looking forward to meet you all.

my email, jinleiwg@gmail.com

Nice weekend,

Hi Ray,

I've been here since summer. Haven't had a chance to see much of Kempten as have been busy renovating the home.

Would cool to meet up. I generally have time Thursday and Friday evenings...

If you have time this week / next few weeks, let me know and we'll find somewhere to meet.
