Maple syrup worth up to $30M stolen in Quebec

The warehouse, in St-Louis-de-Blandford, 160 kilometres northeast of Montreal, held about 3.4 million litres of bulk maple syrup and is part of a global strategic reserve of the sticky liquid.

I hadn't realized we had a global strategic reserve!?

"The St-Louis-de-Blandford warehouse had been secured by a fence and locks, and visited regularly," federation president Serge Beaulieu said in a news release.

That proves it was raccoons because Canadians know the RCMP always get their man. Only racoons can pick locks in Canada.

@HEM: Would a video make you less cynical? The photo was taken in St John's. If you take a look at StreetView you'll see Chapters as featured in the video and if you turn to the right you'll see the Toys R Us from the photo.

The thing that interests me is when the next series of Murdoch Mysteries will be broadcast. It was supposed to start this September, but I think it'll be in 2012 now.

Brilliant series. Watched it all on youtube.

Syrup

In one of the most disgusting crimes in Canadian history ( ;) ) arrests have been made after part of the World Strategic reserve of Maple Syrup was stolen.
