We had a good day in Oberammergau today. Three of us in the end... newchris, Sylvie, and me. We clocked 20.7 km from Oberammergau to Ettal to Graswang and back to Oberammergau.

Snow was great in places. In others there were occasional bits of grass and stones poking through, but nothing too bad. Long lunch in Klosterbräurei Ettal. Hopefully we'll make it as far as Linderhof sometime this season.

Lots of snow today, not many people, very peaceful. Next tour on Sunday; destination TBD depending on weather (inevitably, there is rain on the way).

Thanks to everyone who came on Saturday. We had great weather and snow conditions, and the beginners all took to it like a duck to water.

The hardcore were in Finland the past week enjoying excellent snow and weather conditions. There's still a ton of snow in the Alps with regular fresh top-ups, so the regular Sunday tours will resume this week.

So with the arrival of spring we say goodbye to a bumper winter. This season we did more tours and skied more kilometres than in any of the previous four seasons. It was a late start, with the snow not reaching Bavaria until after Christmas, and skiing in 16°C sunshine in January was a new one, but eventually the snow arrived with a vengeance, allowing us to try out some new destinations, and a late burst of winter over Easter gave us fresh April snow to ski on.

Thanks to everyone who joined us this season and to those who helped with the organisation. Here's hoping for an earlier start this year!
