From the explanation I heard from the workers who fixed the connection today(YAY)...Kabel Deutschland changed something and "sent something down the line" that many town/village level cables/hardware did not like....I'm guessing maybe a signal booster died or something along those lines.
We live in a somewhat long, 4 story building and the TV cable enters the building at the center of the building then branches out in both directions...Left side hardware was unaffected, right side(my side) hardware didn't like whatever KD sent and died.
I imagine that is what has happened to all of the other people who got "zapped" at the same exact time as we did.
Still better than back home in the states...a bird shits on the (overhead) wire and the cable goes out.
Why is nobody talking about/covering the huge Kabel Deutschland fiasco happening right now? There are thousands(maybe tens of thousands) of people all across Germany that have been without a TV signal, internet and/or telephone service for DAYS now.
Since Saturday night at around 11PM until now...people (including me) have had NO television signal whatsoever.
WTF is going on here? Has anyone seen any German news coverage on this?
Nobody from Wolfsburg enjoys going to Braunschweig. Every time a cop or meter maid sees a WOB (or any other out-of-town) plate, you find a parking ticket on the windshield.
We have plenty of parking here...with cars from many other cities...thank you very much. :)
Look at it this way...right-wing American Republican nutjobs have called Obama socialist, communist, marxist and any other "-ist" buzzword that they never knew the proper definition of...they don't know their @ßß from a hole in the ground.
My(German)father in law suggested some sort of martial arts training for my (VERY young at the time) son years ago. THIS is why I laughed at his proposal. WAY too many macho a§§holes involved in this activity.
As long as you are not sending Kinder Eggs, just package it up, apply your customs sticker and send the damn thing via Deutsche Post. US Customs is a complete joke compared to German customs, although as I mentioned before, US Customs seems to have a hard-on for those extremely dangerous Kinder Eggs. That's all US Customs is good at stopping from Germany.
