The Wolpertinger, sometimes spelt Wolperdinger, is a curious creature. They are hybrid animals which live in the Bavarian countryside. They have the body of a small mammal, but with the feathered wings of a bird. Some sub-species have fangs and antlers. They're very shy and hardly ever seen in the wild. Here's a photo-fit mock-up of what they're thought to look like. If you're one of the rare few who has seen a Wolpertinger you can create your own photo-fit here: Der Wolpertinger Baukasten.

If you do create your own Wolpertinger, you can post it to the TT chat forum here: Wolpertinger chat

Rumour has it that their off-spring are the hairy haggis that migrated to Scotland in 1266 and can still be found roaming around the bonny hillsides!

I have seen these they exist! Proof you say? Just go into the Bayerisches Jagd Museum downtown and you can see several stuffed examples - so there. Oh and by the way, there´s a Wolpertinger beer as well. Not too shabby. Prost.
