Munich Found - "a brutally honest, at times bawdy guide...hilarious commentary...more like a buddy than a book...you will enjoy reading it from cover to cover"
Nora Fliegerbauer, ORF - FM4 - "Groovy Munich is amusing to read, a definitive introduction to the city for all visitors, newcomers and even for old and tired Müncheners."
Süddeutsche Zeitung - "The essence of Munich's nightlife...witty...readers will find the auto-biographical hedonism feel from Christian Krachts Fatherland"
Münchener Merkur - "Personal, honest, funny impressions of the city.. tells you the 'in' and 'out' venues of the town"
Synopsis - An insider's guide to over 200 of Munich's bars, clubs, cafes, & restaurants, including special sections on the Oktoberfest & Europes largest party zone, Kunstpark Ost (now called the Kultfabrik). Contains ratings for each location, specially selected hot spots, detailed maps, & high quality colour photos. Each location was visited many times during research for the book. The ultimate guide to a good time out in Munich! Each location has been reveiwed in detail, with the history of the bar/club/cafe revealed, notes on the atmosphere and the type of people to be found there, and recommendations on how to enjoy the place. Anecdotes and funny stories are also included, as are ratings to show the quality of the ambience, service, drinks and food. In addition, the authors have identified which bars or clubs are currently "hot", and selected certain locations that, despite being tourist traps or of poor quality, must be visited to get the most out of a trip to Munich. The book is split into geographical sections, and arranged such that the order of the entries gives you the closest geographical possibilities within an area. Many reviews are accompanied with original, high quality colour photographs, taken during a typical day or night out. The book contains area maps, dotted with the exact location of each bar, cafe or restaurant reviewed and showing major public transport connections. A full public transport map is also included. The unique Mood Guide helps you find the right place for your mood. The authors both live and work in the city, and spend almost every evening checking their own work!
Groovy Munich
A guidebook to Munich's nightlife

When I first got to Munich, this guide was a lifeline. Munich is such a clean, cookie-cutter city, which makes it a wonderful place to live. Unfortunately, it also makes it difficult to find the "in" places. You can walk right by them without knowing that inside there is a social life waiting to happen. This is especially true in the winter when biergartens are closed, and doors are shut (ex.El Teatro is down a side street and hardly recognizable as a bar from outside but inside a projector lights up the walls).
Now that I've been in Munich two years, I still grab the Groovy Munich off the shelf on a dull night to remember places I liked, and the maps are always nice refreshers. I would definitely tell anyone to buy the book. It is helpful and a fun addition to any shelf.

Fancy two lads with such rampant style insecurities writing a guide to nightlife in Munich!! Every good bar is apparently full of 'posers' and 'media types' This is Munich, not Birmingham. Nevertheless, it is great for a cringe and I suppose, if you just go to all the places they hate, you'll be doing Munich in true style.
