The Turmcafe Stars is a short, 30 m ride up a glass elevator with a fantastic view overlooking the rooftops of Mannheim. It is smack dab in the middle of the quadrats, just off of Paradeplatz; its assortment of over 130 different cocktails makes any quick trip to the top enjoyable. During the day, you can enjoy the typical coffee and cake fare or food and snacks simply to satisfy your appetite.
If you're lucky, you'll get a table along the glass perimeter where your cocktail drinking partner gets to look over your shoulder and out into the sky. Situation on 2 stories, the bar is rather small -- getting in and out of seats was a tight affair. They have an open-air deck, but perhaps it's not open in bad weather.
I had a mojito (otherwise knows as a Cameron Diaz), my drinking buddy had a caipirinha (know there as a Ben Affleck). Good size, tasty and mixed by handsome barmen, they all came with those glow-in-the-dark sticks.
