Jason Thackray is a fully qualified accountant (Chartered Association Of Certified Accountants - UK) with 20 years of accounting experience. (CV available upon request).

Now based in Berlin and offering small scale accounting services to, especially English speaking, clients on a part-time or ad-hoc basis.

Services include for example: -

Help in setting up, and where required maintenance of, bookkeeping systems:

  • Recording and summarising cash and bank movements
  • Sub-ledger to control purchases and payments to suppliers
  • Sub-ledger to control credit sales and receivables from customers
  • Credit control - chasing customers for due and overdue payments

Preparation of financial information and overviews to assist the running of the business and understanding of the financial situation - 'Financial Control':

  • Weekly/monthly/annual financial reports for management of the business
  • Monthly forecasts (profit, cash flow and asset/liability balances)
  • Others - depends on business requirements

Preparation of information for tax accountant

  • In order to reduce basic adding/summarising/reconciliation work of your expensive tax accountant so that he simply concentrates on the tax return and tax advice and thus reducing his expensive hours and fee.
  • In order to reduce your own annual work preparing information and evidence for tax accountant by preparation and reconciliation of such data on a periodic basis.

Assistance can be on an advice basis or can be help in setting up systems and procedures.
Also assistance can be on an ongoing assistance basis in terms of actually maintaining the bookkeeping and accounting systems and data.

Fees are negotiable, taking into account the customer's size but certainly much lower than the rates for a tax accountant or other professional - i.e. professional work for the cost of a non-professional!
