Visited on 22.03.2007 Food is to a good standard and service was also up to scratch. Liked that the waiter asked if we needed it a bit more spicy. I tried the lamb jalfrezi, could definately taste all the components, garlic, coriander, chilli. Unfortunately it's rather pricy for not a lot of food, expect to pay around 40 EUR for a full meal (poppadoms & chutney, starter, main, nan & rice, plus a couple of beers). Scores a respectable 7/10
Posted by: "Orable" at 8:59 pm on 26.Mar.2007This was definately one of my worst restaurant experiences. I visited India Palace on 27.07.2007. Portions were almost unexeptable for the price and the food was noticably old. It seemed as if they hadn't had many clientele for a while so just kept old food and sauces for as long as they could. I ordered a vegetable dish with "fresh home made cheese curds", and not only did it taste completely off, but the cook left the brand sticker on a piece of fruit. The men's bathroom was filthy and had no soap. We were the only ones in the restaurant (until after we got our food) and had to wait ages for it, while the waitress yelled at the cook, and then then the cook came out later and sat in the restaurant looking pissed off and dejected. The waitress then completely ignored us after the one other table of two buisiness-like men came in, so we waited for half an hour for the bill. I didn't eat much at all (even the naan bread had a hair on it, small detail by that point) and by the end we both regretted ingesting anything from that place. The bill was rediculous, most expensive Indian we've had here. Maybe they have a low season or something, with a bad cook and old food, but I can't say it was anything like how "Orable" described it in March.
Posted by: ranamarie at 9:13 am on 6.Aug.2007I wonder if this restaurant is any relation to the Indian Palace in Stuttgart which is also pretty bad. Overpriced, poor food and poor service.
Posted by: JDee at 12:16 pm on 7.Aug.2007not a fan of this place at all.. curries are poorly made and the meat there is not great... there are far far far better places in FFM to go and spend your 30 EUR!
Posted by: Little Britain at 2:29 pm on 8.Aug.2007TT curry night ventured here 8/8/07. There were 12 of us and I can safely say i think everyone had a really good evening. It wasn't as expensive as some other restaurants in Ffm, food was excellent (and 'hot' as an option means hot!) and the waiters were very attentative. I think the only slight qualm was that we waited quite a while for the main courses to come out but there were a lot of us so they were excused! 8/10 from me!
Posted by: frizzyjen at 10:31 am on 9.Aug.2007worst restaurant in Ffm! period! Meat is 3rd quality, vegetables old, broken crockery dirty tablecloths and lipstick on my glass!!! Waitress was rude and unhelpful when discussing different lamb dishes and not willing to suggest any alternatives. Slow service and very dark interior makes you feel ill the moment you walk in....let alone the upset stomachs after the food...........
Posted by: "parasio" at 8:26 pm on 10.Sep.2007I have always been a fan of this place and service was always excellent. I cannot speak on quality of meat for other dishes but I always have chicken tikka tandoori and it is delicious. I think the expensive drinks bring the prices up a bit more as well as the fact that they charge extra for poppadoms. But it is still a nice Indian restaurant in my opinion.
